Extensions
Challenge students to create their own scenarios, data sets, and questions to share with one another. This will help them think more deeply about the concepts in this activity and will also provide all class member additional practice in recognizing when averages are being used selectively to give different impressions about the meaning of a data set. Students may want to review news articles for ideas they can use to develop their scenarios.
